Once there was a friend
In forgotten days, once was a friend,
A kindred spirit in every play.
We cried and laughed, not knowing the end,
Our souls, entwined in a joyful way.
All troubling secrets we shared,
The dreams, the fears, that haunt us at night.
Alas, destiny cruelly declared,
That you would be taken, from my sight.
Now, you’re a distant star,
Estranged by life’s relentless tide,
Remaining in memories, although so far,
And tearing my soul, since our divide.
Though years have passed, and we are apart,
I remember our times, engraved in my heart.
