Sonnet #8
The wights shall dance in throngs at mad parades,
As tick-tock goes the time on the clock face.
They take their solace from their masquerades,
I’m only home when th’art in my embrace.
’Tis far from just thy body that I crave,
I need thy presence to light up my day.
My soul is something only thee could save,
So cast thine inhibitions all away.
’Ere light and darkness doth annihilate,
Our faith in love will be all that remains.
Thus we’re bound by unescapable fate,
Enjoy the pleasures and endure the pains.
Since endless time shall pass us like a wave,
Just take my hand and dance me to my grave.
