Forlorn & Reborn
What your loss had done to dismantle my soul
Forsaken me, with a broken heart, in need of mend
Though some say I have never lost at all
Who is more lonely than I; I cannot yet comprehend
I’ll tell myself the aching present in me today
Is just a mere bump in my story
I’ll say you weren’t much to me, always just okay
That you were never a man seeking glory
Maybe without you, there still is a me
At least now I have closure
Maybe, now I am free
A kite flying without its owner
Today the phoenix will ignite,
So that tomorrow it will be all right

This piece was inspired by Enda St. Vincent Millay, a famous poet who wrote many sonnets. I love her work!
