The Battle of Narvik
The northern lights reflected upon the dark sea,
The ships of German steel tore through the waves,
Innocent men and women forced to flee,
While the brave who stayed fell to their graves,
Shells rained down upon the snow-covered land
Red wood houses now painted in crimson
A bombardment ordered by high command,
The fjords peace disturbed by the decision
A beautiful land consumed by chaos,
The mountains' grief whispers through ancient peaks,
The sea’s crashing waves stained by the loss,
The night sky losing its bright northern streaks
The town was destroyed, pillaged, plundered,
Civilians caught and killed in their slumber.
