Who can forgive me?
Dear Mom, I'm sorry I act as a fool.
My Father, I let you down. Pardon me.
Am I condemned? Has doubt stopped our esprit.
Through dark. You guide. Yet I act as a tool.
I should have listened and gone to church school.
Not eye to eye. Like Mammoth’s to a Man.
Hate burns like pepper. Fervor like hot tea
Down my throat. Now I exist as a ghoul
And yet. Despite my actions he forgave.
He said to me, In life you can give time.
Since time, till time, I have heard your intent.
Take this and use it. Spread love to the grave.
Gold rule, make peace while you can. No more grime
You should find Solace now that you’ve repent.

I was raised in a religious household. So it has always been in my life, When writing I chose to put the idea of repentance within the work as it has always intrigued me. Someone being able to be forgiven no matter the crime. As someone who always feels that they hurt people I used this sonnet as a way to explore of the fear of not being accepted for your atonement.
