Mickey
I pet her smooth brown hair when she's asleep,
She wakes, her green eyes meeting my own stare.
I know she will always be there to care,
She comforts me when I feel need to weep.
She gives to me her precious toy to keep,
She plays with me, and we make a great pair.
A day without her near is really rare,
We sleep together counting many sheep.
Because cats know when food will be out soon,
She bumps my leg and bats at my two feet,
I laugh and wrap her up in a cocoon.
She lies on laps through winter to get heat,
At night she comes to sleep with me till noon.
I love her, she is perfect and so sweet.

I'm a Canadian teen who totally adores her playful grey tabby cat. This is my first poetry submission.
