Breakup Season
The leaves fell, orange and yellow and red
The autumn breeze outside was crisp and cool
I laid under blankets, cozy in bed
A season for joy, friends, family, and school
But you took it all, left me with nothing
Our love, laughter, and every special place
The flowers and the letters, and the ring
All these memories I cannot erase
It’s like a piece of me is missing
A relationship meant to last forever
Now broken, I am alone and wishing
Because in the end we were not together
You may always have a piece of my heart
Yet we were destined to be apart
