The Empty Room
Love is like an empty room;
it needs to be decorated and taken care of.
Dust gathers on the surfaces,
and cobwebs form in the corners of the room.
There is no love in this room,
only vacant, empty space.
Pictures cling to the walls in cracked frames,
with past wrongs displayed for all to see.
It appears I am the only one to blame.
It seems that love just must not be.
You keep me in the corner,
empty space closing in.
You watch from the outside window, looking in.
This empty room is my heart, of which you will never be a part.
