Sonnet #1 by Ron
Come quick to the house my love,
Something seems amiss tonight,
Leave the bird, your small white dove,
To see that our bed’s not right;
You’ve worked since it was still dark,
Our bed’s been waiting all day,
On my mind, you’ve made your mark,
Soon it will be time to play;
It’s been toasty out since dawn,
The bed’s been chilly for hours,
Working all day on that lawn,
To the bed! Leave your flowers;
Now the night has settled in,
Now we’ll make our next of kin.
