From Down the Hall (Revision)
I gaze at the top of my room,
And my eyes revolve with the fan.
Outside my window is grim and gloom,
But this fate may be written in sand.
From down the hall, these screams echo,
And I can only wonder why.
I'm grasping this bed and cannot let go.
Are my ears feeding me lies?
I hear more than screams, now.
I hear cries for help, and I sense fear.
These pleads get more and more loud,
Then there's silence that pierces my ears.
As I walk outside, I see a dissipating cyclone.
My town is in ruins, and my soul stands alone.

In this revision, I changed the couplet completely, and slightly changed the wording.
