There's so much more you could change
If your love, you would exchange
There's a bigger picture to see
If only you believed in we

In lands unknown to us
Lies places full of fuss
They scream signs of distress
But their pleas, you don't address

They lack the things we greed
While their hearts remain to bleed
Food, shelter, clothing and water
Why don't you ever bother?

Open your heart and clear your mind
You wouldn't believe on what you'd find

The author's comments:
This is not a sonnet, really. I wrote it before I understood the full concept of one. But, I won an award for it, so I'm a tinsy bit proud of it.

Nice!  I really like your poem... "Open your heart and clear your mind."  Great job
