The Heart Itself
If a HEART is a symbol of TRUE love,
then why does it still beat when there is pain?
If it is pure and lovely like a dove,
then WHY does it turn dark when life reigns rain?
Through the eye the heart is colored red,
does that mean that the heart is made for WAR?
Whether you LOVE or HATE, your tears you shed,
the heart can break but then it will beat more.
They say that the heart can seem black or white.
They say that it can fill with LOVE or HATE.
So why can love shine through the darkest night?
And why with BOTH the heart itself can take?
The purpose of a heart is to pump blood.
So through your veins both HATE and LOVE can run.
