Catcher in the Rye
He had the money, the parents, the life.
Loving sister. A great education.
But his heart and his mind had constant strife.
Done with phonies, liars, reputations.
He put on his red hat and yelled goodbye.
Trying to find where his lost soul can hide
Meeting cabbies, old friends, but still speaks lies.
There's no one he trusts enough to confide.
He roams the streets, drinking away the pain,
But there are two thoughts that he always holds:
Should he give a call to his lost love Jane?
And where do ducks go when it gets too cold?
So until he finds his place in this life
He will just be a catcher in the rye.
