love like any drug
Love like any other obnoxious drug
Blackens the emotional human mind
It grasps them as though a morose dark bug
Sorrow reaps they of the great mortal kind
After kisses grow to painful, true strikes
Only when the bright heart is split in two
When the dreams we see stab us with false spikes
Will a human so ignorant feel rue
pain, oh the pain until we find anew
We seek the truth, the knowledge of our mate
It’s not good enough, and you say we’re through
Until you meet the one, the one of fate
In light of those whom I speak of today
You will not know, oh no, what shall I say.

Love is the epiphany of all meaningless and obnoxious drugs, but don't we love it anyway?
