When the Time Comes
When the time comes for me to go meet you
On the other side of the closing door
Will I not hesitate, but continue?
The Dark Raven’s cawing, “Forevermore”
Will be no more when He comes to get me.
The sun and the moon will forever set,
Stumbling in the dark is my destiny
But the dark tendrils won’t consume me yet,
For on the other side, I see a dream,
And the dream is promising and perfect,
A lost belonging I need to redeem.
Knock on Heaven’s Door, no need to reflect.
So at last, when the time comes to face Death
I will close my eyes, and take my last breath.
