Precipice
There are memories of the bliss and the haze
In the pink times before I was who I am now
When carelessly we basked in sparkling days
With fountain sunlight pouring from my mouth
The fateful hour that changed everything
Was a harvest of the years of our misfortune
It sent the black beast that descended on me
In macabre birth of the darkness already begun
Precarious balance on the precipice
Splintered open after the schism of the two
It’s a rabbit hole drop, but I promise to find
Which face is mine and the fledgling that tragedy slew
Dangling toes over the chasm that threatens to entomb
Its teeth already in me, the poison promising to consume
