Spare Change
Friend, do you think you could spare me a dime?
I’m so close to the coffee I’m craving
And luckily you’ve shown up just in time
To complete the fund I have been saving
Although now that I think over this fact
Ten cents isn’t the only change I need
How about a job from which I’m not sacked?
Or a new life with a more wholesome creed?
I save and pinch for a kick of caffeine
When my time should be spent building a life
Instead I spend it chasing gold and green
Which makes me want more, it’s circular strife
Does my cupidity need revision?
I hope you’re fit to make this decision
