Willow
Willow.
Baby Girl fast asleep
Dreaming about sweet baby things.
Even when the world she is in is so bleak,
Around a stranger’s warm body she clings
Daddy left when he heard the news,
Mama wasn’t safe and went far away.
Baby Girl is left with the emotional bruise,
Unable to find somewhere to stay.
She can still fall asleep without knowing
Why she hasn’t heard Mama’s voice in a while.
Constantly coming and going,
But Baby Girl keeps her wide, toothless smile.
Baby Girl with the big brown eyes,
But Mama and Daddy don’t have to watch her cry.
