2018 GMC Sierra 2500 Duramax review
The 2018 GMC Sierra should be everyone's go to truck. It is definitely mine, growing up with new ones it doesn’t get much better than GMC.
It is a diesel which gas wise does cost more however with 445 horsepower this truck can pull up to 14,500 pounds. And with the crew cab weighing 9,900 pounds—nothing's gonna stop you.
The initial release of this truck was late 2017, the brand new price, $65,000. Now used, it ranges from $35,000-$50,000. But You will definitely get your money's worth because these trucks are built to last. The last sierra my father had lasted him 13 years, he also bought it. This truck does not rust easily either.
The interior of the truck is designed to be perfect for the driver; every control you need driving is reachable. This includes features such as the 7 inch touch screen with apple carplay included. This also includes being able to go into 4wd on the left side next to the steering wheel. Inside, it seats 6 people with a spacious back seat and the crew cab feature. With this truck seating 6 it would be perfect to pack in the family and go on a road trip, being able to pull anything under 14,500 pounds you can go anywhere.
There's always options to add onto your truck, such as a lift on it with bigger tires. I recommend this a lot. Your truck doesn’t look as long, you can see over almost every car,and it helps you in the winter. If you decide to get a lift on your truck, I recommend running boards. They help you if your truck is too high or if it is difficult for you to step up into higher vehicles.
Since you are driving a heavy diesel truck, gas mileage is an issue. On average you can get anywhere from 10-20 mpg. The average for this truck specifically is 14 mpg however this does vary depending on the driver, driving conditions, and if you are hauling something. And In the State of Wisconsin the average price for diesel is $4.20 compared to regular fuel is $3.19.However it is definitely worth it, you can realistically take this rig anywhere, with the delete kit you also get more MPG.
Next, we talk about the engine. This truck is a 6.0 L V8 diesel engine. The sound of this truck will make every head turn, both in good ways and bad ways. Yes people say diesel is bad for the environment, but really the battery is worse. The batteries can contaminate the lakes, oceans and rivers.
The beautiful paint job and sounding engine will make anyone's dad wish they had this ride. If you pull stuff a lot or have a big camper or boat this truck is the way to go. This truck is perfect being not too big but not too small and hauling more than the average pickup truck.
