If you ever go to Kauai, you need to book a helicopter tour with Island Helicopters Kauai. You get to see views from the sky that you cannot see on the ground.

We did the doors on, 55 minute tour around the whole island. All of the sights you see are absolutely breathtaking. The pilot flew us into these canyons and mountains giving us views that were life changing. We got to see the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, the Napali Coast, jungles, etc.

The landscape of the island was crazy. It was a mix of so many different areas. You had a grand canyon like Arizona, desert, jungle, mountains, beaches. So much variety and so much to see. If you were to drive and look at all of these landscapes and views from the road, it would take you all day—or even more. It only took us 50 minutes to see this beautiful island by air and we got views that you won’t be able to see anywhere else.

We went into the canyons, near waterfalls, on the coasts, through the mountains, above the jungles.

We did this the day after we landed so that we could get the lay-of-the-land. And it really helped clear up where things are on the island so we know where we were going when traveling on the island for the next week.

The pilot was very graceful with the ride, but also the way he flew gave us plenty of time to see the views we wanted to see.

We were flying through clouds, which made it look like it was downpouring rain but it wasn’t.

The pilot also gave us a full narrative and told stories as we would fly over these different areas. For example, when we flew over some parts of the jungle, he told us that one family owns over 55,000 acres of private land.

The workers who gave us the safety brief did a good job of what to do in emergencies – but with some comedic relief sprinkled in.

The 50 minute ride was the perfect time length, not too long and not too short. If you do get motion sick, like I do, I recommend bringing dramamine if you go on this.

The price of the ride was $250 per person –  it was worth every penny.

I 10/10 recommend if you ever go to Kauai to book a trip with Island Helicopters Kauai.

I wrote this review after my family's trip to Kauai this past spring break. We did a helicopter tour on the second day we got there and here was my thoughts about it...
