T.G.I Friday's

On Wednesday, March 27, 2013, I had went to T.G.I. Friday’s with 17 other people around 9:45 P.M until 11:30 P.M. on Gold road next to Woodfield. Considering there was a large group of us, I have to admit that the service was phenomenal. When I had gotten there other members of my group were already there and had ordered some appetizers. Once I had gotten there and taken my seat the waiter came shortly after and had taken my order. I had ordered a house size caesar salad and a Dr. Pepper. Within less than 20 minutes my order had been served to me. It all tasted great.
After a while our server seemed to be getting annoyed with us for no reason. I understand we were a larger group but we really did not ask for much. We all sat around and enjoyed our meal. Shortly after we were all done we had to wait sometime for our waiter to gather up all of our checks. This was a little annoying because you could tell we were all done with our food but had to wait 15 minutes or so just so we could pay and leave. Once we had gotten our check I ended up paying a little over $16 for a salad and drink. Little did I know that they include gratuity. This really ticked me off. Even though I was going to end up tipping the man I thought it was rude of them to just assume I wanted to give them that much. I’m all for being generous but considering I had only gotten a salad and a drink without refills I thought was a little too much. Technically, it was someone else who gave me my food and not my actual server. I had been to T.G.I Friday’s before but never have I ever paid so much for a meal. Not only that but the attitude of our server was not the greatest. Maybe because it was late and he did not feel like dealing with us but we weren’t giving him much to deal with in the first place. Although this did not completely ruin my experience, I do plan on going to T.G.I’s in the future. It would not be my first choice though. It would be a very last resort choice.
