Response to Everyday Angels

In the November 2013 issue of Teen Ink, Amber Warnick surprised me in her article “Everyday Angels.”

I was truly amazed 100 percent by Amber’s view of everyday heroes that aren’t recognized enough. In her writing, she talks about how her parents are her heroes in her life and that she is very proud to call them her parents. However, she feels that her parents don’t get enough appreciation that they deserve. I can relate to her article, because I know that my town and school has everyday heroes that are just friendly, common people just trying to do a good job. My mother is one of my biggest heroes in my eyes. She does everything for me, even through thick and thin. Though she is my mother, she is also my best friend who I can tell anything to.
Here at Ayersville, I believe that there isn’t enough teacher or hero appreciation. Everyone thinks that a hero is some big shot famous person, but in reality, the greatest hero is the hero that does the smallest things to help. We all really take everything for granted, not stopping to say a simple Thank You every once in a while.
