Dead City Blue Moon
Warning: This is a continuation of the book Dead City. There might be spoilers of the first book if you continue to analyze this critique.
After the tragedy with Molly’s mother her father and sister were devastated. Molly even mentioned, “I listened to Dad cry himself to sleep.”(Ponti 37). Although Molly is a little angry at her undead mother, she could not stay that way forever. Molly is now on trial along with her friends in the decision being, whether they stay in the OMEGA team or not due to previous circumstances. As soon as Molly got to see her mother they discussed many things. As Molly and her mother were catching up, her mother was in an attempted kill. They had a fight with the predators and her mother left, but right before she left she told Molly a few things that could help her and her friends stay in the OMEGA team. Molly’s mother told Molly “tell them that you have to be reinstated to work on the Baker’s Dozen”(Ponti 54). Molly shared this information with the top OMEGA, Molly and her friends were assigned a case, the Baker’s Dozen. As they approached this case they made a good undead friend along the way, Liberty. The team, along with liberty, went through many adventures and had to be assiduous to figure out the riddle of the Baker’s Dozen. It was up to them to keep their OMEGA place.
I enjoyed this book a lot, it had many details. I would recommend this book to teenagers, and adults who enjoy action. Dead City conveys many action scenes especially battles between the main characters and the undead. The whole book is based off of science fiction, which can relate to real world situations. This book includes many details which can make you relate and feel the action and thrill in its’ action scenes. This was a great book, but there were some points of the book that could have been improved. For example, in the scenes with Grayson and Molly joking around, I think they should have more of those moments with other characters as well. In the fighting scenes I think they should include a picture to clearly show the way they were acting upon the antagonist. Other than that I would certainly recommend this book to any science fiction lovers.
