In Wake of Scandals, College Worth Comes from Within
The writing titled “In the Wake of Scandals, College Worth Comes from Within.” The author is Maria Praox, the article talks about what some people will do to get their student into the college of their choice. Her writing left me feeling stunned and disheartened. I agree with the author. She feels that the scandal has gone to far. It is a shame that colleges are falling into the temptation to accept the students who bribe their way into college. It is also heart wrenching that someone would cheat to get into college. I know that if I was a candidate for a college and I had not gotten the acceptance, then in the future it turns out that someone who did get in bribed or cheated their way in, I would be heartbroken. I really liked the phrase that the author used, “Be classy-you only get one reputation.” A person's reputation says a lot about them. I try to live by that phrase. The author and myself agree “ We should know when to draw the line.’
