When you read Strangers on a Train, it feels like it's more than just a book; you really get immersed in the story.  From the start of the book to the end it is filled with little details which describe what is going on very well.  

The story is based on a man named Guy who is a professional tennis player going through a rough divorce that meets a fan named Bruno on a train. Upon meeting him Bruno, who seems mentally challenged, brings up an idea about switching murders with Guy. Bruno doesn’t like his dad and Guy doesn’t like his wife so Bruno thought it was a good idea if they kill the person they don’t like for eachother so it can’t be traced back to them. 

This book came out in 1951 and for more than 70 years ago this book is a good  read. It has the perfect length not being too long or too short and it is very good at explaining little important details which are used later in the book to solve the mystery . 

Throughout the whole book Bruno appears randomly wherever Guy goes which adds a really cool suspense because he shows up when you are not expecting it. This makes the book feel like a scary story in a way on top of a murder story. It definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole story.
