Breakout by Kate Messner
Kate Messner is a very talented author, who portrays key points in her book "Breakout" which starts when a new girl moves to a small town, two best friends, and a prison break. Although this book isn't written like your typical novel, it's written in letter forms like a collection of evidence as well as the point of view from the main characters; Elidee, Nora, and Lizzie.
This story has one of the best plotlines and a great sense of suspense that keeps you curious on each page. This novel also has poetry embedded later into the book.
I recommend for readers ages 12 - 16+
And trust me, it is a great read!

I read this book for our annual "Battle of the Books" competition this year for my school district and thought I might as well create a review of it. Enjoy <3
