Clearand Present Danger by Tom Clancy is an exciting book that keeps youturning the pages. This fast-paced novel is filled with action andsurprises at every turn. It certainly grabs your interest and is hard toput down. The tension is so great that you can become unaware of what ishappening around you. You simply cannot read quickly enough to keep upwith the book's pace.
The characters are developed so youimmediately know if you like or dislike them. The great detail in whichthey are described is amazing. Their childhood problems are revealed, aswell as why they chose their job. One had been in a gang and chose to gointo the military to escape that life. You can feel the pain of many ofthe characters.
In the story the soldiers find themselves indangerous situations and, because of the detailed development of thesecharacters, you will find yourself pulling for them. It is as though thereader is right there in the Colombian jungle.
With a compellingsetting, Clear and Present Danger keeps the reader's interest extremelywell and is a great book.
