Of Mice And Men by John Steinbeck
Of Mice And Men are about two men trying to live their dream, of having a home to call theirs. It is the story of friendship. I recommend this book for teens through young adults.
The story opens with George and Lennie running from Weed. In this particular book, I really enjoyed how Steinbeck writes like they speak, and how he explains what happens throughout the days on the ranch. I also like how he uses lots of detail, which helps me visualize the events. The main characters in Of Mice And Men have different characteristics. George is very small, but knows what he wants to work for. Lennie is very large, but has a mind of a child.
In conclusion, I think this book deals with themes dealing with hope, freedom, and dreams. Everyone has a dream and in Of Mice And Men Steinbeck shows that something may come between it. I give this book five stars; because I think it’s a book everyone should read.
