Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelen
Taking place on a remote Alaskan Island, Touching Spirit Bear tells the story of 15 year old, Cole Matthews, who must overcome his anger before it leads him to prison. His choices are to either go to prison or be banished to an island in Alaska.
He decides to go to the island but he has different plans for when he gets there. He joins this group for justice called “Circle Justice”. Which supposedly will make him overcome his anger. But, with the help of Garvey his parole officer and Edwin a Tlingit elder he eventually overcomes his anger.
This book will definitely keep you engaged from cover to cover. It sure did that to me. It might not live up to the standards of some other books but it is a truly “touching” story. All fans of books will love it.
