The Year we Disappeared by John & Cylin Bubsy
If you're a reader of non-fiction and you like being apart of the action, then you'll enjoy The Year we Disappeared. This is a dramatic but yet heart wrenching novel that tells the point of view from two people's perspectives; John Bubsy and his daughter, Cylin. The novel partakes in Falmouth, Massachusetts during the 1980's. Cylin is but a young girl ho loves The Muppets as well as her box turtle. She also loves her family, especially her father John, who's a police officer for the Falmouth Police Department. One night while John was doing his usual routes, he had been in what some would call an "accident", where as others say it was attempted murder. John had been shot point blank range in the face by a double barrel shotgun and by some tremendous stroke of luck, survived. That's when Cylin, as well as her two brothers- Shawn and Eric's life would be turned into turmoil. After John was shot, The Falmouth police were required to watch, guard, and protect the Bubsy's family around the clock until further notice. They didn't know how long they would be under protection, but it was taking a toll on the kids. Cylin's friends quite talking to her followed by not inviting her to any of their slumber parties. As for Shawn and Eric, their grades were slipping and they had begun fighting in school. John didn't know who had shot him, but he had a hunch as to who might've had it out for him. Can you figure it out before John does? Well, you'll just have to read the novel for yourself.
