Misty May: My Journey through Life and Volleyball by Misty May-Treanor with Jill Lieber Steeg
Have you ever wanted to read a book that has inspiring events and real life stories in it? “Misty May: My Journey through Life and Volleyball” is a motivational story about Misty’s life and how she overcomes her fears. She wrote the book herself with Jill Lieber Steeg, and it is a truly inspiring biography. Misty is a three-time gold medalist in beach volleyball. Her partner Kerri Walsh won that with her. In this book, you wouldn't expect Misty to express all these feelings, and when you read it, it feels like you are living those moments with her. I really enjoyed reading this book because i love playing volleyball and she has always been my role model. I highly recommend someone with a true heart and someone who loves volleyball to read this book, because you will never forget it. All her life she has dreamed of gold and, now reading this book, I dream of gold.
Misty’s book is about her life with volleyball following it. As you read this book, you will notice that misty didn't have a perfect family. Her dad was a drug addict and he wasn't well. But over the time he became sober. Misty’s family is very fun and athletic. Her mom and dad played big time beach volleyball and that's how she started playing volleyball. She always went to the beach with her parents and would watch them compete. She grew up on a beach and she spent most of her time on sand than anything else. This, book she wrote she has many ups and .downs. Her mom died of cancer in 2002, and after that she got a tattoo with the initials “B.M” for Barbara May. Her mom was the highest ranked tennis player of her time. Her father was a member of the 1968 United States men's national volleyball team. You could say that her family is probably the most successful family ever. Misty has been in the Olympics 4 times and she has won gold 3 of those times. She was offered a spot on ABC’s hit TV show “Dancing with the Stars.” she felt so honored and excited to be on Dancing with the stars. Her partner was Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and half way through the season, they were rehearsing and misty states she her a “pop” and she had ruptured her left Achilles.
This novel is one of the best ones i have read, yet. The fact that volleyball is by far my most favorite sport is fits right into this story and i can connect a lot of things in this book. When i picked up this book, i the middle of the book. I read the captions they had and they he book. I read the captions they had and they encouraged me to read the book. Misty May-Treanor is a wonderful women and reading this book would just give you a lot of experiences in life.
