True Legend by Mike Lupica
August 29, 2014
True Legend Book Review
How would you feel to have all kinds of pressure on your shoulders? "True Legend " by Mike Lupica is a very good sports book. You will be very curious about so many things in this book I recommend this book to all middle school readers who likes sports books.
The book is about this kid Drew Robinson who is very curious about an older man that is extremely good at basketball. He saw this man play at a park Drew shoots at. The characters in the book are Drew Robinson (main character), Ghost player at the park, Darlene Robinson, Lee, Mr. Gilbert, Billy Digregorio, and Callie Mason. The setting of the book takes place in California. Most of the story is at Oakley High School, and Morrison Park.
"True Legend " can be for anyone. It is mainly written for middle school. But if you are into books like this you will definitely like it. The vocabulary in this book isn't hard. There may have been a word or two that were hard to understand but other than that, it's not hard at all. The situation in the book could definitely happen in real life. You can always run into someone you're curious about. The authors emotion is effective. It's effective because he adds a lot of emotion to the characters. Not just one character, he talks about all of the characters emotion. Even the minor characters. He really focused on it.
"True Legend " is a very good sports book. I would recommend this book to anyone that is interested in books like this. This book is a must read. I promise you will like it.
