What does Honor mean to you?

Have you ever gotten a guilty by lie you told? On My Honor is written by Marion Dane Bauer. I think this story puts a theme is “lying is all of origin of problems.” It is also common in our real life so it is easy to remind you and reflect to your experience because this story a realistic fiction.

Joel is the best friend of Tony. Tony is very excited boy but Joel is not excited meant safety boy, so he sometimes disagrees to his usual dangerous action. One day, Joel is invited to go to play to Starved Rock Park. He is always told to must not to work a danger by his father, so he suspects that Joel will let him to ask it. Joel follows Tony’s plan although he promises with his father to will not to do too much dangerous. When they play in the park, Tony finds Old Man River, and he plans to swim in the river. At first, Joel disagrees to him, but Tony provokes his negative acting. Finally, Joel confesses to agree to play in the river, so they meet an incredible happen…

I prefer this story because I have gotten a trouble like as protagonist. There is more reason. First, this story contains an important lesson for you are getting good relationships to around of you. The author used easy words and wrote easy story, then it is useful to young children. You may be unsatisfied from this story because you were too intelligent to read it or you’ve already known this lesson. Even though it is fact to you, I recommend it to you because it will remind your experience.

This story mainly sets around the river, and Joel’s house. Joel’s conflict consists of changing of his mind from he broke a promise. Therefore this story’s key point is title of “Honor.” I impressed this meaning is “Be Honor, don’t break promise” after I read. In the explanation, this story’s protagonist, Joel promises with his father and his friend, Tony and he makes lie to his father and his mind himself, and then the story dramatically develop. Joel lies that Tony and he hides in his room because of his guilty. He finally has lies again to his father. It is enormous problem for Joel because he caused to Tony. The common theme makes you to consider the connection to your real life carefully and reminds your conflict you caused. You have to focus his emotional discord. Then you must perceive theme and what I said.

The characters have a reality and the problem also seem you to may be real. Especially, Joel has a humanity, and he is affected by around happens and people. These materials work to your experience you had. In case of me, I reminded that I nearly broke my friendship with one of my best friend. Joel’s first person of view makes the drama and develop the conflict, it means Joel’s too much delusion disturbs to solve the problem and be bigger relationship with around characters. The author succeeded to convince me to consider my experience I caused.  I think the author hopes to you to find and consider that your life connecting with this story. Thus this story has a great persuasion for you.
