I’m not really a big fan of basketball, I don’t even know how to play but Crossover is the most fascinating book about basketball. This story is heartwarming and nerve racking. It has won an award, the John Newbery Medal.

Josh Bell has a twin brother and they both play basketball like their dad. All 3 of them have a strong relationship but all those relationships change due to the jealousy of Josh. They are soon brought back together due to a drastic event that changes their lives.

Crossover is written in the point of view of Josh. It gives his personal feelings and experiences and you feel as if you are in the book. Its written in poem form. The text and writing is sometimes written differently to give it a different feeling and emphasis and you feel the way of the writing.

I believe that a theme in this book is change because lots of things change in the blink of an eye this book. It’s unbelieveable and unexpecting. The author does a good job leading up to events without giving away which is marvelous because not every author can do that without being predictable.

This author will leave you wondering. It will leave the questions that are yet unanswered but they will soon be revealed as you ponder more deeply because that’s what this book does, it’s the beginning of many thoughts. This sweet, marvelous, heartwarming, book will leave you wanting more.
