The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros
The house on mango street is the story of a young girl growing up in a poor neighborhood her name is Esperanza. The conflict in the book is the hardships she has to go through to get to her goal. The main goal for Esperanza is to get her dream house and leave this poor neighborhood. But it only wasn't the house that drove her to want to leave it was horrible things going on to her, her being raped, swing people around her being hurt, and know one is doing anything to change it, that's what drove her to get out. The setting is in a low income neighborhood in a broken down house. The story to me means that know matter were you come up from you can always succeed.
