Rocky
Have you seen a movie that inspires you?, That’s what Rocky does. Rocky
directed by John G. A Wild in 1976 is a sports, action, and romance movie that is about a
boxer who is given the opportunity to change the low opinion people have of him. This movie
was the key that opened the door to the new generation of fight movies and it brought
some things that no one has ever seen on this class of movies. The cinematography is brilliant.
the push-in moments really emphasize the characters feelings at a specific moment. Every
actor/actress that participated in this movie made an amazing jog bringing their characters to
live and their performances was stupendous. The sound is absolutely amazing. Every single
sound is in the right place and time when needed and one of the most famous soundtracks
called Going The Distance was made just for this movie.
This movie is about an Italian boxer who lives in Philadelphia and fights in
underground clubs for money, and also works for a “Mafioso” called Tony Gazzo as a money
collector, He felt in love with his best friend’s sister Adrian since then he went everyday until
she also fell in love with him. A famous boxer called Apollo Creed is looking for someone
that could fight with him, between all the boxers he chose Rocky because he liked his
nickname “The Italian Stallion,”and he thought it would bring more people to the
ringside. Rocky is given the opportunity to prove that he is not just a regular man or a
warrior from the bunch, He is going to try to demonstrate that he is one of a kind. In the final
fight you would see how a person is pushed to his limits and how the results differ from what
was expected.
One of the most important and memorable moments of the movie is almost at the end
when Rocky and Apollo are fighting and is the only moment from the movie that makes you
feel what they felt in that ring. The sound on this scene was amazing because of how every
tiny sound reflects everything needed at that very particular instant and how you could feel on
the air they were tearing apart. Apollo thought that it would be easy or at least easier that he
would show up and win, but Rocky didn’t have that on his mind, he kept pushing and pushing
until none of them could resist no more.
I would recommend this movie to anyone that likes action, fights, and a bit of
movies, but I would not recommend the movie to people that like really complex or
developed stories. Two things about the film, one that I like and one that I don’t, the thing I
like about the movie is the simplicity of how the movie is made , and how the director paid
attention to small details. What I don’t like is the lack of climax scenes throughout the entire
movie. there were some moments but mostly at the end I normally prefer movies that
distribute the action in all parts of the movie, but this one has something that just made me
enjoyed it so you should see this movie at least once
