Stone Sour - Stone Sour MAG
Stone Sour is a brand-new bandhitting the music industry with their self-titled debut released this summer.Corey Taylor (vocals, guitar) and James Root (vocals, guitar) have unmaskedthemselves from Slipknot to start this side project. The five-piece band alsoincludes Josh Rand (guitar), Shawn Economaki (bass) and Joel Ekman (drums). StoneSour isn't well known yet, so the album is pretty inexpensive.
Taylorreaches inside for very emotional lyrics, based on his experiences and things hereads. He has a great ability to scream at the top of his lungs as well as singin a very melodious tone. He even includes a mystical poem at the end of thealbum.
As well as amazing vocals, there are great instrumental pieces.Root and Rand send fast guitar riffs and screaming solos, while Shawn Economakiplucks away at his bass with a precision that leads you to a lower, darker sound.Joel Ekman bangs at his drums so loud you feel like you're right next to him. Hisdouble bass pedal sounds like galloping horses.
Some Stone Sour songs evenfeature Slipknot's Sid Wilson on turntables. This album is definitely one of mytop ten favorites. Even those who don't like Slipknot will enjoy this. I suggestit is worth a listen for anyone into metal and alternative music.
