Pan Am
Set in the 1960's, this show follows the lives and experiences of four Pan Am flight attendants and two pilots. The show is named after the Pan American World Airways and has many historical references which include Kennedy's Ich bin ein Berliner speech, the Bay of Pigs, the Cold War, etc. The audience is entertained by the stories of four young ladies: one who left her husband at the alter, one who works for the CIA, one who experienced the Nazi's first-hand, and one who inadvertently gets hired has a Pan Am stewardess. This show is a great depiction of what it was like to actually work for Pan Am because one of the executive producers actually worked for Pan Am in the late sixties and early seventies. The shows takes you back to a time where flying was a luxury brought on by the entrepreneurial ingenuity of America.
