Since the early 2000s, there has been a rise of superhero- centered entertainment. The fanfare stems all the way back to the love of comics and superheros.

The love of superheros can be contributed to many things; an escape from reality or sheer entertainment. With the Netflix original Daredevil, you get both; the series is both engaging and entertaining.

Daredevil introduces viewers to a new type of superhero, an antihero. Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, is an attorney by day and a crime-stopper by night. There is one catch: Murdock is blind. Blinded at a young age by a chemical spill brought on by a car accident, Murdock doesn't use his loss of sight as an impediment; with his blindness came heightened hearing and radar sense. Alongside his law firm, Murdock fights the injustice in Hell's Kitchen, New York.

I was surprised by the quality of the show. I previously watched the Netflix original, Unbreakable: Kimmy Schmidt, and I didn't like the show at all; the show neither has a directive nor an interesting plot. A TV show should be both stimulating and entertaining; Daredevil is both. The show has got me thinking about the underhanded corruption in my neighborhood, and what I can do to help. Even though the show is based off of a cartoon, the cartoon had some basis in reality. I don't want to give too much away about the show, but it is worth watching. From the spectacular acting, (I actually believed that Charlie Cox, the guy who plays Murdock/Daredevil, was blind) to the dialogue between the characters, the show is worth getting a Netflix account. But I'll let you be the judge of that.
