NBA 2K14

This game is amazing. 2k Sports has been dominating EA Sports and Nba 2k14 makes it understandable how they have been so dominate lately. Nba 2k14 features a wide variety of games to play like playoffs, the association, season, Nba blacktop, training camp, Lebron James the road to glory, and my player. The My player mode has really stepped up this year having many new options for the player. In the previous games the player would play the rookie showcase then pick the team they want to play for. In 2k14 you play the rookie showcase and after the game teams will interview you depending on how well you played. This new feature makes it feel like you are the actual player.
The association and season mode just allow you to play as one team. The season mode is only a season long. These two features are great to play with your friends because you get the option to do a fantasy draft and get better players for your favorite team. The association can be difficult at times due to the salary cap that cannot be turned off like in a Madden game. This also gives 2k an edge on the realism.
The Nba Blacktop mode includes the Sprite slam dunk contest, Three- point shootout, and pickup games (one on one, two on two, three on three, four on four, five on five). The slam dunk contest has stayed the same but has new dunks. It also is difficult to perform the dunks because the combo of buttons and analog movements to complete the dunk. The three- point shootout is my favorite feature on the NBA Blacktop mode. It lets you choose any player from the NBA today and some of the Legends on older teams. The mechanics are so smooth it makes the shot look real.
The graphics are insane. At the start of each game the players look normal, but seven minutes in you can see the sweat on them. The jerseys flop around with the player movement. The down side is that the fans always look the same in each game. The fans have the same reactions to every play and that really gets boring.
The 2k Sports games all have their great soundtracks but NBA 2k14’s soundtrack (all songs were picked by LeBron “King” James) is amazing and gets you pumped up. The soundtrack includes Daft punk, Drake, Eminem, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Kendrick Lamar, Coldplay, and many other big names in the music industry. These songs also show up during the pre-game intro and you can’t help feeling like you are watching a real NBA game.
They have improved the blocking system so now the players will be able to move more realistically. This new physics engine is outstanding because if you pass a ball into traffic the defense will block it and the ball will go bouncing away from the player. These new physics also make it easier to maneuver around the defense because the CPU is smarter now and will come of their man to cover you and leave him open so you can pass it to your teammate.
The game has added new teams to the game. You can now play as the top 14 teams from the European League. They also have old teams including the Chicago Bulls when they had Michael Jordan and The Seattle Super Sonic. These teams can only be used in the play game mode.
I recommend this game to every basketball fan because you will be blown away by this game and I highly recommend this game to anyone with a next gen system. NBA 2k14 is one of the best games I have played in a long time and it has improved so much since NBA 2k10.
