At Deaths Door
1 / 3
The whole arena was silent. No one dared to turn their heads or else they'd miss all the action. In an arena, two figures stood, panting trying to figure what the other was plotting. One bared fangs, looking like a lion ready to pounce, while the other if examined clearly had the eyes of demon. "You know you don’t have to do this." The vampire said preparing just in case round three.
" You know I can't do that Bryce ...you shouldn't have betrayed him." With that the man transformed into his true self. His four wings, as black as night flapped behind him, glistening from the rays of the sun. Bryce took the three remaining knives he had and threw them as hard as he could.
"You think a basic attack like that will hurt me" he croaked, evading all three and grabbed the last one flipping it through the air. Smirking, he pulled back the string tied to his finger and the demon felt instant pain as the knives dived into his back. He screeched. Not being able to maintain balance he dropped like a rock. Bryce leaped at him and with one final burst of energy, took him by the arm and flung him to the ground creating a small crater. Walking up to him, he said, " Will you finally help me now ?"
"Yes we had a wager and now I will fulfill whatever you may ask" grunting, he rose out of the second skin and rose his hand " Michael at your service"
Bryce returned the favor giving him a grin as bright as the sun. They walked away not caring about the money as they were already rich and left right away finding a local inn to

stay in for the night. They checked into their room and split into the different bedroom to shower and decided to meet back into the living room for room service. From outside the window, a girl in her twenties, sat, perched on a branch watching them. She waited until she seen them get rid of the trash. She steadily aimed her bow and fired right in between, they both jumped out immediately as the arrow exploded, demolishing the whole top floor. Fortunately, they were the only there tonight. "Are you crazy?!" He barely had enough time as another arrow whizzed past his head, exploding behind him. Seizing the moment, Michael threw a throwing knife at her. Catching it she looked at it and gasped. At that moment it blew up. The two of them jumped rooftop to rooftop.
"We need a way to stop her somehow" Bryce screamed out as the arrows charged at them. They frantically looked at everything they passed. They heard a yapping and saw a pearly white poodle. Running towards it at jet speed he grabbed the dog and threw it. The girl flew up into the air to catch it. She couldn't help but squeal at how cute it was. The boys hastily made their getaway before she could turn them into tar tar.
" I think one of her arrows got me" Bryce sunk to the ground letting in a painful intake of air. Michael looked the wound over, nodding at him.
" Maybe I can do something about it. I can't let you die. The only reason why I followed him was because of fear. He can't

be stopped without you." He put his mind to work to heal him, but nothing seem to work. He rose with a newfound determination. With a new air dancing around him, he jumped into the air after morphing into his four winged state.
He kicked open the doors of a well built looking, showing no signs of damage except for both doors being not off their hinges. He stepped into an office; careful to keep his caution.
He looked around not, finding a single trace of his prey. He turned as he felt another presence enter the room " Looking for me...Michael"
"You know he told me what made him hate you so much. At first I didn't believe him, but... after that fight, I remembered everything. The only nice thing that I remember that you did that was so nice was when you named him your predecessor. And than we all went out to celebrate.
With a snarl, he jumped at him. The father ran towards him like a speeding bullet and hurled them both out the window. Before Michael could land on the ground he switched them around and pierced the king's heart. " You have no idea what you just did. Consider this a parting gift, pay close attention. First there is a way to get the boy back find that pessimistic child and... as for me this little thing won't kill someone like", the king disappeared in a puff of smoke, leaving no trace that he was even there. Michael suddenly felt a wave of sleepiness engulf and he immediately passed out succumbing to the darkness around him.
