Memories

It's a hot summer day in 2016. We were all in shorts and t-shirts and were sweaty like condensation from a thawed frozen water bottle. We were all so happy. Think about it now, we haven't changed at all. We still play daily, in winter we still go to each other's houses. This day, we were having fun doing the usual. We did so much more, we were the most competitive yet. The park program played dodgeball that day so we had to  compete. With the quarter deflated rubber ball in the game too, we weren't leaving that court without at least a few bruises. We were throwing those balls like we were in a war and they were our ammunition that had a limited supply.

Right after that we went and played some ball tag. With the same competitiveness. You see, the rules we use for ball tags are that the person with the ball can't get off the wood chips, but that didn't stop us from getting everyone. We were tagged like 3 times in total and were on a role. We dodged and weaved through the bars like they were our last chance at survival and we weren't gonna get back home.

Then we went to my house, we played some ping pong and 2k, but not just NBA 2k. We played WWE 2k, NBA 2k, Rocket League mini games, Minecraft mini games, the Watch Dogs 2 demo, Dying light, and GTA V. I beat everybody with my community made deadpool fighter in WWE 2k and slammed em in NBA 2k with Larry Bird, the fact that he's not that good didn't matter. Then we went to Brayden´s house and played Modern Warfare 3, and went to Taco Bell. We were up all night in the neighborhood and we all went home at like 9 or 10 in the morning. When I think of not just that memory, but many like it, I feel nostalgic and miss those days. But at the same time, I wouldn't want to go back and miss these times either.

What do memories do to your emotions? They let you feel them. No, I don't mean you can actually punch your memories, I mean it lets you feel happiness, anger, nervousness, and much more. These feelings are the reasons people have memories they'll never forget. I have many of those memories too! This one happened when I was with my friends when we were younger, but we did the same thing everyday so it would be hard to forget it.
