gone
i looked at the empty pillow next to my own,
and i knew that something was wrong
your sleeping face should have been there,
but it wasn't, you were gone.
i was left alone, to clutch the remains
of a presence,fading still
you were supposed to be here, to hold me
when my nightmares ripped me from sleep.
you were supposed to be here, to laugh with me,
at lifes irony
you were here,i know you were,
but memories dissolve with time
your presence was strong, but now its gone,
tell me ,when's it my time to meet you on the other side?
