Mom
Your lies blind me from the hurtful truth
The coarse hands that console me
You keep me safe from
The things that have harmed you
The cigarette smell that lingers on your clothes
Some might protest it
But I associate it with you
As I do your old Victoria Secret perfume
Although your cooking isn't always the best
I'd prefer it over the rest
Over time you have sought the skills
For My favorite meals
The days we spend together
Though we have nothing to do
But at least I know that i'll always have you
From birth, you have been my best friend
And you will continue to be till the end
