False Love
From the other side of town he came every night,
I recall growing anxious from the sight of his bright lights.
Blinded by what I thought was love,
My heart on false alarm,
I wondered, “Has he come from above?
Has he exotic charm?”
But then one day he lied and proved such accusations false.
He became like all other aimless teens,
My “love” for him was lost.
And just like that he came and left my life without a trace.
And yet one would think “love” lost would keep my heart, an unsteady pace….
