A Love Song
A Love Song
She’s a bird trapped behind wire,
Longing for the sky.
She lets the bursting melody flow from her lips,
Echo and travel as an airplane waiting to launch.
He’s a bird trying to find his shadow
While wandering through a labyrinth.
His blood pulsates to the rhythm of the music.
Though his lips a sound as chilling as
The wolf’s howl resonates and rebounds.
Their notes blend, ripple, tousle together --
Strumming the chords of your heartstrings.
On the edge of the rooftop, a love song blooms.
