Defining Strength
Being strong is more
Than just tears.
It's more than just hopes,
And courage, and fears.
Being strong is
The mother who lays
Malnourished and pregnant,
But who still prays
For the daughter that
She hasn't yet seen,
Who'll be born with no yells,
And a pallid sheen.
