BEAUTY?
"Wow, they're beautiful", they blushed and they gushed
"I wish I looked like that"
The magazine pages turned as the pictures flashed
Of size two spaces with airbrushed faces
Of a distorted reflection of a flower
Of a monster at its best
"How can they be so beautiful"
They pondered; they preached
They, so pure, so full of delight
Them, with their naive, angelic faces
Their eyes, still so free of life's lies
The softness of their hair
Like waves of gold beneath the rays of tenderhearted light
A crisp ripple of wind took upon the midday sun
And for a delicious moment
The reflection of the flower cleared into a beautiful lily
The monster crept away to hide
