A Life Not Lived
Every time I close my eyes I see him.
A little baby boy, wrapped in a diaper
With brown hair and blue eyes like his mother.
Every time there is a silence I hear him.
Crying for his momma,
And the dad that left before he was born.
Every Year I take the time to mourn him
For he never had the chance to live.
And every day I wish that I could meet him,
And hold his little body in my arms
Not a moment goes by that I do not think
About what might have happened
If he was given a chance at life.
