Falling Sun
Why does the water recede after coming so close,
bulbous rocks clutter the beach like paint on canvas.
Truly breathtaking as the sun settles snug, in the sky.
Do you feel the waves?
You can hear the water cascading past the rocks,
soaking between your toes.
The sun suddenly takes the luminous characteristic of the moon,
It starts to fade, becoming dimmer and dimmer,
yet as it slowly recedes, I feel its radiance.
One last soak, just one last “take it all in”, and one last breath.
